유키스(U-KISS) '끼부리지마' MV [Review]
U-KISS is back with the release of their newest Music Video for '끼부리지마' Not only are they back with a brand new image, this release is also going to be the first showcase where they have 7 members again with the debut of their newest member, Jun. Who is taking over the maknae position since Dongho's unexpected decision to leave the group at the end of 2013. O.K technically this showcase has 6 members with AJ still attending school, but the group as a whole now has 7 again . . . anyways . . . Onto the music video!!
Warning!! the 19+ rating for this MV is NOT a joke, if you are unable to handle extreme sexual themes I would suggest listening to this song only.
The Song
This is very different from what I've heard from U-Kiss in the past . . . I really do like the song, don't get me wrong. Its that it has a very strong ballad feel to it and I tend to shy away from songs like that, but thankfully it avoids being boring like normal ballads tend to typically be. It keeps a very steady beat throughout the entire song. It also is quite easy to sing along with during the "No no no.." section of the chorus.
No worries, that's why she keeps me around--I'm the ballad girl and this song was definitely more ballady than U-Kiss' usual sound.

If you've read any review by me before you'd know that I tend to repeat the song while I write my review so I can get a better understanding of how I feel about the song in question. This song is no different, its been in a continuous loop the entire time, and it is definitely grown on me, but I didn't reeeeally start to like this song until I read the lyrics . . . yes lyrics have already been posted online (bless those wonderful kind souls who had them up a mere 2 hrs after the song was released) . . . anyways the lyrics are what really drew me to this song and they are almost NOTHING like what the video would suggest.
Your short skirt keeps bothering me
Your bright red lipstick on your thick lips
Your magical eye smile can’t be hidden
Everything keeps making me nervous
Men are simple, I am bewitched and falling
For your fatal charm
And now you‘re breaking my heart
My insides are burning up black because of you baby
Please quit playing, don’t go there today
Stop, stop, please, in front of me
Quit playing, it’s a bad place to go
Stop, stop, please don’t do that
No No No No No No No No No No No
Quit playing, I’m warning you (you)
No No No No No No No No No No No
Quit playing, stop messing with my mind baby
Your thick makeup, white dress
Your red lips make me nervous every night
Stop with the dangerous games, don’t play with my heart, quit playing
Nasty, I hate the other eyes on you
It makes me nervous, your alluring eyes
Makes me tremble and scared, shakes me up
You’re nasty, your lipstick is thicker today
(Hot blooded, can’t hide the charm)
[Eli/Jun] Rumors fly around here and there
[Eli/Jun] You can run but you can’t hide
Men are simple, I am bewitched and falling
For your fatal charm
And now you‘re breaking my heart
My insides are burning up black because of you baby
Please quit playing, don’t go there today
Stop, stop, please, in front of me
Quit playing, it’s a bad place to go
Stop, stop, please don’t do that
No No No No No No No No No No No
Quit playing, I’m warning you (you)
No No No No No No No No No No No
Quit playing, stop messing with my mind baby
That smile you only showed me
Why are you showing it so easily to others?
Words that I held in but can’t anymore
If you love me, then stop
Please quit playing, don’t go there today (don’t go there, don’t go there)
Stop, stop, please, in front of me
Quit playing, it’s a bad place to go
Stop, stop, please don’t do that
No No No No No No No No No No No
Quit playing, I’m warning you (you)
No No No No No No No No No No No
Quit playing, stop messing with my mind baby

The lyrics, like I mentioned before, give off a completely different vibe than what the video would suggest. And I like it.
The Video
*ahem*
This . . . is a fairly accurate representation of my feels after I watched this video for the first time. You don't even get six seconds into the video, when you're just bombarded by the excessive amounts of sexual vibes rolling off each member. And if you're anything like me, you had to stop the video, take a deep breath and say "Okay, now I'm ready"--which is the biggest lie I've ever told myself. Hoon and Kiseob are shown first, striping down and getting ready to get freaky with their lady friend. And no, I'm not talking about with their own individual lady . . . I'm talking together with one woman . . . in some room that looks like there is a lightning storm going on around them. And no, I'm not going to go into super details here because the video basically speaks for itself.
I said I wasn't going to go into specifics, and I won't, but I do want to quickly mention one thing about this video. O.K . . . so each member, except for Jun who is (thankfully) still underage, has some sort of intense intimate moment with their respective female backup dancer(s) . . right? And while Hoon and Kiseob, do indeed have probably the most racy sequence in the entire video. I feel that it was actually Eli who had the best sequence over all.
I think the way the MV was edited actually put more attention on the story behind Eli's sections . . . actually it feels like his "story" follows more closely with the lyrics than any of the other members. You follow him as he is with his woman before the club, you see him try to ignore her while at the club only to get jealous and thus get a little rough with her. Finally, after she steals some glances and teases with Eli while they're still in the club, the two finally seems like they've sort of come to terms with each other towards the end of the video.
Yes it was sexual at times, but since it wasn't so over the top and all up in your face about it (like the rest of the video) I could really just sit back and appreciate Eli's acting skills. What? That wasn't over the top? Get your crayon out of here! It was awl up in yo face...but the audience liked it. [compared to the Hoon and Kiseop three-way . . . yea it didn't give me the vibe of to being all up in my face. It helped that his sections were spread out across the entire video]
I'm sure it had to have been difficult to be the only member who had the largest variety of physical contact with the women on set.

So kudos to him
Then to top everything off . . . the feels U-Kiss had radiating off them in this MV where too much, even for the sensors. U-Kiss has since "cleaned" up their dancing so it can be preformed on live shows, but the original MV has indeed been banned on all stations. Something that, while not uncommon for solo artists and girl groups, has been unheard of from a male group in the Kpop industry.
Overall
The song, I can honestly now say, I love . . . It's amazing what understanding the lyrics will do to your perception of a song. The song still has that subtle feel to it that I felt when I first heard it but it's still got that upbeat undertone that will probably make me avoid the skip button it whenever it pops up on my iPod.
I also really like the video, it was beautifully shot and none of the acting felt out of place. The reason I'm giving it 4/5 is because I could have lived with out the excessive sexual tones to the video concept, don't get me wrong die-hard Kissme's . . . I enjoy looking at all the eye-candy as much as the next fan-girl, but this was a little too strong for my taste.
*nods fervently* It was waaay to much for my fan-girl senses but then again, I'm a Kpop-fangirl prude, so that's to be expected. ABS are too much for me so no one will be shocked by my assessment.

How you feel about this release? Did you love it? Loath it? or are you indifferent to it? I'd love to hear what other people think in the comments below
